Post-Christmas Wrap Up

I haven’t writer a lot in the last few weeks. We are on our way back to the Burgh, and I’m looking forward to being home. We had a great time with both our families and tomorrow I get to preach at City Reformed.
Everyone was really great to us, and we got a ton of stuff we need.

I’m hoping to start blogging more in the next few weeks. Uneven messing with new design for the site.
I hope everyone had a good Christmas, our aniversary is on Monday so we will have a cool week.

Spammers Beware

Ok so a few months ago I switched from movabletype to wordpress, you can see my reasoning in this post.

I have really been happy with wordpress, its a pretty smooth system you editing the template is not very tough, its actually easier to make a new template with wordpress than with movabletype because you have all these extra pages that you need to code or they will look different.

So here is my one complaint since switching systems, I have been in the last few weeks getting a ton of spam, like 2-3 an hour all day.

So watch spammers I recently add one of those slick cryptograph plugins to hopefully reduce the amount of spam.

Question to Everyone reading:

Do you guys/girls get alot of spam and how to you block it?

Back From Vacation

So we are back from Red Wing, in all we traveled over 1600 miles in the last week. If you think thats bad, my in-laws first came from Philadelphia to our place in Pittsburgh.

It was a great trip I have like 400 pictures that need to go up on flickr, that might happen today or tomorrow. I get next week off too, and my goal is to finish an over due paper from last semester, and to pick maybe try my hand at silk screening.

I did some writing this week, some reflections on Rodney Stark’s Cities of God, and I’m just editing stuff before I put it up.

I hope everyone had as good a week as we had.

Vacation With The Family

Reporting live from the eco-lodge in Elkhart, Indiana.
I havent posted in over a week, things are busy with work. I am hoping to do some writing over vacation.
We are on our way to Red Wing Mn.

Fall is coming

Hey wow it’s been a long time! Life is so busy and different from what was going on the last time I posted, or whatever the correct verb is. By life I mean what Sam and I are filling our days with; life itself is of course the same.
Sam’s classes started again, and he’s busy with work for school, and more hours at Crown & Covenant. He also is working for the admissions guy at RPTS this year for his work hours, which is definitely more enjoyable than cleaning (I can quickly attest to that).
I started teaching Spanish at Trinity Christian School this fall, and am loving it! I have 25 students and I’m learning more everyday. Cleaning is going well, I miss Julie everyday, and dream of one day only having to clean my house! :)
Sam and I are busy (we should be more busy than we are) packing because of the move that is quickly approaching! I love our hopeful new house, and am very excited about owning a home. I can’t wait to decorate and organize everything in our new space, ha.
Other than those things, I think life is pretty normal. I will miss our apartment on Peebles St, but we are (I think) onto and exciting things! More soon hopefully…

Spring is in the air, or not…

Hey everyone, things are going pretty well here, even if I have been surprisingly preoccupied lately. We’ve been back and forth to New York twice, once for vacation and once for Sam’s dad’s ordination. Both were great, and yet it feels wonderful to be back home :) It’s an awesome feeling to realize that the thing I missed the most when we were gone was our church family! It will be great to be there this Sunday. Last Saturday we started Evangelism Explosion, and I’m very excited about it. This coming weekend we start going door to door, and I’ve never done that before, ever. So, I’m sure I’ll be writing about that here! Kidzone is still going great too, I’m still trying to prepare a good base for the older girls who are ready for more than the children’s message. It’s very exciting, but also a little overwhelming having to decide where to start with a twelve year old who seems to be very interested in the Bible. Anyway, tonight, Sam and I also start a class on Romans at his school. Since it’s at night I get to go along, and I am very glad it’s Romans and not a class I’d already be behind on. So, that’s what all of our busyness is about! I can’t believe we had a hot day this week! And today, I had to scrape my car off :( Well, I’m sure more warm days will come soon . . .
